"Our task is to educate their whole being so they can face the future. We may not see the future, but they will, and our job is to help them make something of it."

House Art Competition - The Plywood Challenge
From May 21st to 24th, during lunch breaks, the Plywood Challenge featured our four house teams—White Tiger, Blue Dragon, Black Tortoise, and Red Rose Finch—who created stunning artworks on 8' x 4' plywood boards. The event was a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and futuristic visions.

Red Rose Finch: This steampunk-inspired piece features a zeppelin shaped like a fish and a soaring Rose Finch. The floating island and vibrant contrasts highlight adventure and technological marvels, showcasing imaginative brushwork.

Blue Dragon: Their artwork envisions humanity's future, led by a space-age leader. Morse code signals and the guiding figure emphasize survival and discovery. The orca in the clouds symbolizes hope and transformation.

White Tiger: Inspired by "Brave New World," this artwork portrays a neon-lit cyber city. It explores technology's impact on emotions with cyberpunk neon colors and glow-in-the-dark elements, reflecting the allure and disquiet of a tech-driven society.

Black Tortoise: This piece contrasts current pollution with a hopeful future where technology and nature coexist harmoniously. The division between night and day illustrates the transition from a polluted present to a balanced future.
This competition was created in collaboration with the Head of School and our students. After selecting the winning student sketch, I was able to vectorize the image, allowing us to use it throughout the school. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of team spirit and community.

In collaboration with the head of school, I used AI and Adobe Photoshop to design and visualize a school mascot soft toy. The finalized toy was then given as a gift at an IB conference hosted at our school.
